Yes. The program includes a supervised clinical practicum where you’ll gain real-world
experience in a healthcare setting under the guidance of health information professionals.
Clinicals are unpaid positions where you are supervised by a health information technology
professional at a health care facility. Your clinicals are scheduled during the day
shift based on the availability of the site supervisor. The program cannot guarantee
a specific site, but every effort will be made to accommodate you. You are responsible
for your own transportation to and from the clinical site.

The Health Information Technology accreditor of San Jacinto College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
